Too Much Time in the Forge
« on: August 27, 2017, 11:25:34 PM »
I've spent too much time in the forge this week...two more.  Time to go fishing...now where's my fly rod.

I like your sense of blade shape in both knives.  The last one pictured is quite elegant.

Just something about the first knife I didn't like when I saw the picture...too much rounded belly edge for a patch knife, plunge line didn't seem to go with it, and the edge seemed too thick.  So back to my grinder...straight belly edge, ground out the top to bottom taper getting rid of the plunge line, and rolled the edge to a fine hairs thickness so all that gets sharpened it the very edge.  Then back into the tea stain.  A little dark but it will wear off.
