Horn With One Piece Antler Tip

This one is in the style of a horn found on page 352-3 of Dr.Jay Hopkins' book
Bone Tipped & Banded Horns.
It is about 12 1/2" around the outside curve and 10" tip to tip. The Walnut butt is about 2 1/2" held in with 7 steel pins, hollowed out about 3/4s its length, with a staple for the strap. The tip is held by 3 steel pins. Color is dye and shoe polish.

Mark, it is Fiebing's Low VOC Leather dye in Saddle Tan. Wipe it on and just as quickly wipe it off, hit it with a heat gun and see what you've got, repeat if not what you want.

Your horns have given me inspiration. I am not a carver or scrim guy, but have always had an affinity for the lathe!!
Thanks!!!

Another beauty! I appreciate your ability to preserve the overall "flow" of the horn shape, not easy with screw tips. The shape of the wood tip plug enhances this flow. 👍🏻
Kindest regards,
Johnny
