A Question of groups

I find the recoil of my .50, no more bothersome than the .36.  Of course, might be due to the small powder charge I use in the .50 - only 82gr.(3drams)
This recoil, of course, is in comparison to the .69- which does have a bit of a kick and can induce flinching, if you do not STEEL yourself to the coming pain.

I shoot 4 dram loads in my 58s and 62. Because thats the loads that shoot the best groups and they give me a flatter trajectory. I don't want to shoot loads that are good enough, I want to shoot loads that are the best I can get in my rifles. I owe that to the game I try to kill . An old timer told me several years ago, if you don't want to scratch like the big cats-get ought of the sand box.

There are loads between 10gr and heavy loads and they work perfect.

80gr of 3f will blow through an elk. Do we need to do more than that?

btw I hold dead on with that load too. Long shots are never needed in my hunting. If you have to take long shots. Then you need more powder or learn hold over.

I use 65 grains of FF in my .54 and .58 for targets or deer either one . In my guns I get no more accuracy with 100 gr than with the 65 gr . The 100 gr do kick a good bit more though .

Going to try that target, Marc - looks promising for irons and failing vision.
