« on: May 04, 2009, 09:23:13 PM »
Does anyone know if the prices listed for components and parts on the T.V.M. on line catalog from the "links" page on this board is current?
Thanks,
TCA

Tim,
All our link does is send you to:
http://www.tennesseevalleymanufacturing.com/catalog.php?category=all
which may or may not be current. I, like you, questioned the prices since the catalog page shows "New for 2006". Anyway I called them and he says that the site was supposed to have been updated but the 2006 date is still there and the Siler prices was wrong. But some of the other prices are correct.

He said he had a message from you while he was at lunch.

Better verify the prices for things you want.

There is also TVM - the Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading, and their site has a good deal of current price info...

It looks like Tennesee Valley Manufacuring has oct/round barrel made from pipe, the oct section looks straight, that kind of surprised me, I am sure they would provide any type of barrel one wanted it is just that straight opct section looks realy ...bad,funky I had one and did not like the look over the barrel when sighting, it was OK with a rear sight, seems like most everyone is trying to push the tubing barrels now days. I really think that the vendors/builders should mention the style of barrel they offer, many would probably go to a different barrel if the knew what the tubing barrels looked like.

I was just about to e-mail and ask if those smoothbores were drilled and reamed from solid and if that is a tapered octagon section.

Are you sure about them using tubing?  The price was attractive.

Thanks................................Lynn

Tis so if you order their "house" barrel, but they will sell you whatever you specify.  The barrels are neither tapered nor swamped.  They mill the flats, add a wedding band, and then turn the rest of the barrel straight.  This simplifies inletting as they can route out the octagon section and then the straight section.

A friend has a trade gun with one of their barrels. It developed a crack about a foot long. TVManufacturing did replace it for free, though.

Yes, it was along the top of the barrel. It was replaced free, though, and the replacement barrel has been fired several dozen times with a patched round ball with no problems.
