Have any of you any information on a gunmaker named W H Love probably from NC or TN?

There was a Lucian Love, gunsmith, in Mercer County, Kentucky in 1850, born in KY in 1829. While this is not your man, the Love family was extensive in central KY. They originally came from VA into KY before 1800. There were numerous family members with the initials "W. H. Love," several being named William H. Love with births in 1816 and 1819, but none identified to date as a gunsmith.

This is mentioned only as a possible connection if nothing else shows up...plus the fact that KY guns often have NC or TN characteristics, depending on where in KY they were made. Is it possible to post a couple of photos of the gun you mentioned?  Shelby Gallien

Shelby,
That's good information and I appreciate it. I do not have photos of the gun but if I am able to get them I will get them to you.
