Bordoni SxS Percussion
« on: January 14, 2018, 10:17:26 PM »
Bought a fortnight ago a sxs percussion in 18 bore The makers name I am not familiar  with maybe some member will have heard the name . The makers name on the locks is L Bordoni on the left lock and Brescia on the right lock with 33inch Damascus barrels The gun is in good condition but does not look to have a great age, proof marks are none just the letter V2  and 77 stamped on the barrels underside near the hooked breech.[ gun images enclosed]

I'm probably wrong but I thought Brescia was the name of a town or region. If so Bordoni might have been makers name from Brescia.

Brescia is both a city and a province in northern Italy.  It has been a gunmaking center for several hundred years and many of today's well known makers are still located there.
