Rio Grande supply sheet brass
« on: January 18, 2018, 06:39:19 PM »
I need some wide sheet brass for my next Fainot patchbox and Rio Grande supply has 6X12” sheet.  Have any of you used their sheet brass and do you think the color would match well enough with Reeves Goehring castings?

I have used their brass before, very high quality, nice and yellow and looks good with Goehring castings. I believe it is 230 jewelers brass. I buy most of my brass now from McMaster Carr which is 260 due to larger sizes being available and resultant cost savings. To be honest, I can't tell that much difference in color/hardness after annealing.

I also buy my brass from McMaster-Carr. My last order was for 3 -12" X 12" sheets each of 0.040" & 0.050" thickness - good stuff.
