Ferric nitrate crystals
« on: January 23, 2018, 12:33:59 AM »
I have searched and can't find it. What is the name of the company that sells ferric nitrate crystals? Or if somebody has more than they need I'll buy some from them. I'm building a rifle and will be needing some in a couple weeks. When I moved a couple years ago I some how managed to loose my note book with all my information and records and some pictures from the 70's were all in the same box.     Al

Sciencecompany.com.
It'll cost more to ship than to buy.  Still a good deal.  Pint sized jar will make a pint to a quart,  and will do many guns.
Just bought a new one thinking my old bottle is almost gone...... nope, still have enough for at least a couple more rifles.

When I was into making my own varnishes I bought a lot of my supplies from Antec Chemicals http://www.kyantec.com/ .  I had really good experiences and they specialize in small quantities and the hobbyist.

Check out Amazon. I found tannic acid powder at a good price on there. I think it is used in wine making. Amazing when you start looking and studying, what some of these chemicals we use in building longrifles, are used in other venues for. Good luck.

As Kevin mentioned Mr Kibler has it available. When I ordered mine it was a pleasant and fair exchange.
Dang nice folks.
