Short Period Trek
« on: January 23, 2018, 01:44:54 AM »
Wanted to share a short trek with side of squirrel hunting from last week. Needed a mental break so I skipped out of work early and hit the woods before the snow melted. Walked a few miles along the Little Miami River.

Was on a Public WA that has been hunted hard, so there wasn't much going on, but I had fun despite not seeing any game. Did find some good deep holes which should pay off. I do enjoy the sounds of the winter woods and how different they are.

Also found it interesting to track the movement of previous hunters with their steps in the snow. Mostly, everyone took the path of least resistance.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

It was a nice day to be out in the woods.

The gun I bought from Keb on here. 28 gauge fowler that I absolutely love. It's a joy to carry.

Thanks for sharing.  I'd be checking that last field more and more often leading into spring turkey season. Something about the tree line/edges says "sit just inside here and call."
