8 Bore Boxlock (E. Wesson sort of)

I posted in the newbee thread that I don't build Classic American Long Rifles, but since G. Elsenbeck said

Now the next thing you all have to master is how to put pictures of your items in the next post,  Grin
And I did actually read the stated purpose of the Forum is
Quote
While the focus of this site is the American long rifle in all its incarnations,  it is also a home for all those crafts persons preserving a bit of the past by building traditional muzzle loading sporting firearms and their accoutrements.
So I will play along and post pictures of my latest build and if they are not appropriate for this site, then a moderator can delete the post and I won't take any offense, I have enjoyed lurking here without posting anything for a long time so I don't think that will change.
This is an 8 Bore (.835") built on a Pete Allan casting Boxlock Action. The action is representative of an Edwin Wesson style of the 1860's. The rifle weighs 11 pounds, has a Sugar maple Stock, Rosewood Ramrod. The barrel is 32", 1:104 twist. The ball mould for this was made by Jeff Tanner. The barrel started out as a blank that I machined the flats, wedding band and taper turned the round on. The underrib is full length, I made it from scratch. I checkered it 20 LPI flat top, single cut edge(borderless). The metal is Rust Blued. All the load data is written on the sight in target.

If you have any question feel free to ask. Any comments or Critiques are more than welcome, how will I get better if people aren't honest with what they think.
And Like I said if this isn't appropriate for this site please remove it, I don't want to clutter up this place with something that doesn't belong.

Thanks for looking.

Colin

Thanks for showing your rifle. I seldom get to see anything but the actions we make. Your rifle is a step above most of the boxlock rifles I have seen especially because of the fine engraving. Keep up the good work.

Pete,

Thank You. I enjoyed building on your action. I also have one of your smaller boxlock actions setting in my shop for a future build.

That's cool! I've thought about making an english style deer rifle with the smaller action sometime. What kind of velocity are you getting with that two ounce ball?

Thank You,

I couldn't honestly tell you what kind of velocity it's getting, I never ran it across my chronograph to find out.

That's a fine gun you made there! And a good description of the work you did.
Posting pictures isn't that easy at first, but gets easier after a few.
There was a good discussion on antique British shotguns, punt guns here a while back that was very enjoyable to a lot of guys. I think the main criteria here is that it loads from the front, so you're good.
Ahhh, 250 grs of FF must be an eye opening experience!!!

Thank you,
It actually wasn't bad, it definitely lets oyu know it's there when you pull the trigger, but it wasn't uncomfortable.
