I smoke my molds with a candle to help releasing.

Well, I smoke......uhhhh, let's not go there.  ;)

I cast on top of the kitchen stove with the exh fan on in cold weather, warm weather on the deck.

I'm not sure if you are joking or not but I'd have to be insane to process lead in any way in my kitchen knowing what I do now. There's a reason no one sells lead pots for stove top use anymore.

Same here, Turtle - kitchen stove.  The electric stove worked, but natural gas was faster. Stopped doing that in the late 70's.

Wife didn't like the wax or bullet lube stink that escaped the overhead fan.  My first electric pot was purchased in the late 70's

& all casting went outdoors.
