Jim's Peep Shoot
« on: April 09, 2018, 03:50:40 AM »
Jim Goodman (on left) held his annual "Peep" shoot today.  He started this event years ago with a celebration after completing his cabin.  They shot stale Easter "peep" marshmallow candies.

Kyme Clark's outfits are always historically accurate, as are most of them here, except mine.

Dwayne's buffalo coat.

Dennis shot his dad "Wishbone"'s GRRW Hawken, the only caplock there except mine.

George Jackson and .Dwayne.

Jean hiting another as usual- after a flash in the pan.  Others did this, too.

George with a flash in the pan.

One of Jim's cabins at the last station.

Sandy and Carney.

Some of the interesting hats.

Herb shooting his .50 caplock fullstock antelope rifle.  Hit that egg, too!

Of nine shooters, I took first place with 18 of 21 points. Of course, that caplock gave me an advantage.  I like flintlocks and build them but do not shoot them well enough to win.  Kyme was second, and I think Dwayne might have been third, at least he was available for the picture.

Good pictures, Herb. TKS.

Those two gents sitting at the table appear to have seen that whiskey bottle to the bottom.

Looks like eastern Oregon. Is that correct? Neat stuff by the way. Eventually I'll put together an outfit to go with my rifle. Funny how that works sometimes.

Knowing them fellas, I'd say closer to Vernal, Utah.

Yes, Vernal, Utah.  I hunted elk a few years in northeast Oregon and worked at Malheur Refuge some.

Hi, Gordon!  No, it's just one of them optical perclusions.  I caught them off guard by sticking that camera in their faces.  We were just pleasantly mellow.  All things in moderation.
