Latest project. First fowler.
« on: April 27, 2018, 07:41:46 AM »
I thought I would branch out from rifles, and do my first fowler.  I'm quite happy with how it came out. Had to seriously modify an existing buttplate to get it to work. Thumbpiece was made from a 1968 Canadian quarter.   I brought it out to the Spring Fling shoot at Heffley Creek a few weeks back when it was still in the rough, and broke 8 out of 10 clays winning the skeet shoot. Next I may have to do an early fowler with Dave's tutorial for help.

Yes indeed.  I think "clean" was the word I was thinking.  I really like the lines and architecture, and I think this particular gun is all the better for the restrained ornamentation.  The finishes are really warm and inviting.  Well done sir.  God Bless,   Marc
