Pictures in tutorials with photoshop
« on: April 12, 2018, 03:12:46 PM »
Gentlemen, I am in the process of being tutored by the tutorials section. The pictures have disappeared because of photoshop's change in policy.

The pictures really help.

Thanks for your time.

If you use the chrome browser there is a free add-on that will make photoshop pictures re-appear.

Thanks Mike. I guess I'll go that route.

Hi,
It is not something the moderators can accomplish.  The original posters have to go back and update the photos using a different hosting site.  It is up to them, we cannot do it. The Photobucket fix in Google Chrome may or may not work all of the time.

I just looked to see if there was a Photobucket fix for the Firefox browser... there is!  And it seems to work!!!  Yay!

Can also click the broken image and "view photo" I think it says and it'll come up in a new window.

I installed the firefox addon in 2 clicks and suddenly I can't even find anything that says photobucket.

It worked like a charm.

Thanks most kindly to all once more.

You may have noticed that Photobucket recently reversed course under a new CEO; realized the folly of their $399 image hosting debacle.
Too late for me; I’m not going back.

But its good news if old tutorials and build threads are restored.

The only problem with Firefox and Google Chrome is for all of us that have Apple Macs. Apple uses Safari and I have never heard anything else. It will be interesting if Photobucket can ever reverse the damage they have done over the past months since they announced their outrageous change. Time will tell.

Elkhorne:  I think the default server is Safari, but I use Firefox on my Mac.  I did not make an attempt to re-use Photobucket though...I simply used ALR's current image posting to completely restore all of the tutorials in which I had pictures.  Quite a commitment!

I use Google Chrome on my Mac. I find for many applications it works much better than Safari.

Thanks guys for the suggestions and help. I will try Firefox and possibly Google Chrome on my Mac. Taylor, thanks very much for the suggestion but more for all the effort you put in restoring your photos in the tutorials and posts. That had to be a mind boggling task since you post so many. Many of us also use your posts over and over. Thanks for all.
