A lot of people will tell you this is a Jonathan Wetzel.  It may be but there seems to be some major differences between rifles signed " J.W." and those signed " J. Wetzel".  I would be interested in seeing more of this piece.  Wetzel did great work.

From the ALR library- another rifle marked JW but looks like different script.
