thanks for that comparison article. I wonder if black powder fouling on the metal would make a different result? Muzzel blasts had a good article on this subject--I think.

Anyone use Bore Butter from TC? A friend of mine recommended it but I haven't used it yet. I use Ballistol.

Don't waste your money on TC bore butter.  I threw mine away years ago.  Unless you are having issues with the ballistol  stick with that.

I use this inside and outside the barrel. Not for lube but just for rust prevention. Never rust.

Singer sewing machine oil it's made not to dry up. I use it for everything.

I have used singer sewing machine oil it is will not not to dry up over time.i get at the sewing center.
