Oh, yeah. I can almost smell those dogs and fries. Taste the lemonade. I can hear Wayne Dunlap getting worked up over a piece of wood, and Donnie Getz sittin there laughing the day away. Fun stuff. Karen Chambers is always willing to talk locks. Maybe we'll see Barbie this year? Ah, this is all coming back to me now. John Getz, A Martin... EK, walk right on down the big tent, saying hi and trading  smiles.

Wear your ALR shirts, fellers, even moth ridden, grease stained, smelly, ripped, what have you, wear your shirt! (Roger Fisher's shirts don't last more than a few seasons)

Speaking of, here he is: Roger Fisher:

Long John Cholin:

Taylor Sapergia:

I've gotta make me reservations, stayed at a Super 8, 15 minutes or so east of there last year.  Just trying to decide whether I'm coming for the weekend or all three days.

Is it just me or does Eric look like Geddy Lee?   ;D  Will you sing Tom Sawyer for us?

I am going to do my best to make it this year. This will be my first trip to Dixon's. I will be taking the family with me on this one.

Can everything at the show be seen in one day, aside from the seminars, and demonstrations?

I will probably check out the crayola factory while I am there to make my 5 year old daughter happy ;D

Yes, you can very easily see the whole faire in one day. If you enter a project, firearms, and accouterments  for critiquing , these will only be released to the owner on Sunday around 3pm, after the awards have been given out. It is an impressive sight to see all those guns on the display table with all those ribbons on them.  ...Geo.

I just want to add for the benefit of those that are making this year their first trip to the faire. The faire gets very busy and crowded early, around 10 or 11. It gets difficult to talk to the vendors, you have to slowly shuffle through the lower tents. Don't make the mistake by showing up in the afternoon. If you're interested in attending any of the seminars, get a schedule, Chuck Dixon might have the schedule posted on the web site, if not, maybe if you call him, he can forward you a schedule. If your planning on catching any seminars, bring a notebook. A camera would also be a good idea. They have a food vendor that serves hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, lemonade, soda, and a few other things. The property that is used for the faire is level where each tent is set up, but there is a grade between tents and his store.   I don't know what else to add, I hope others will add to what they can expect.Come early and have a good time.  ...Geo.

That burger smelled great...

I can't wait for Dixon's!  Enough said... Now I just have to crack down and finish a couple projects.

Hope to come for the first time this year. Might be able to stay with some friends fairly close.

I'll bring the boys at least, maybe everybody.

Where does one get those ALR shirts?

Take care,

Tom

Check Rick Sheets ads in the For Sale forum. He has three different ads for different type ALR shirts.

Yingling used to come in 22 oz. bottles. A couple of those would probably measure up to that burger.

It's not quite as crowded on Friday,
however it seems to get busy a little earlier each year.

My guess would be Saturday for seeing everyone. For buying stuff, I'd say early Saturday morning. The awards are on Sunday though. It's a nice sight to see all those guns spread out with the ribbons on them. It does start to get crowded around 10-11 am on Saturday. Let's hope for good weather. Until then.....Geo.
