Put them in a baggy with some lube, close the baggie and mix it around.

Fill a shoe polish tin, or Altoids box, with a mix of venison tallow, and bear oil. Just enough bear oil neatsfoot oil, or any other animal oil, so the tallow isn’t rock hard. Put the tin over the opening at the top of a candle lantern. When the grease liquifies dip the rough side of the wad in the oil ( less is more, so don’t overdo it). Set them aside so the can harden up, and you’re ready to go. Saturated wads act just like a section of broomstick would when it passes through the shot pattern. Lightly greased wads break up, and don’t blow your pattern.
