Numerich lock ?

I got this lock years ago from Dixie Gun Works in a close out special and if my memory is correct it was made by Numrich Arms. Anyone have any experience with these locks ? It seems to spark ok and it has a fly. It must have been a replacement for one of their guns, possibly their " Minute man", as it has the two mounting holes drilled and tapped. Thanks, Roland

I have used some of there excellent barrels, but I didn't know they made locks.

The internals look like two Dixie manufactured locks I own. The frizzen spring, and the cock look like one of my locks as well, but not the plate. I think this was a replacement lock for the Numrich minute man rifles, made for Dixie.

I think HH is right about this lock.It is more representative of locks found on American
rifles than anything I and others have made.I remember seeing similar locks in the DGW
shop when I worked there in the Summer of 1958.

I do not see any other stamping on it except "Warranted" on the plate. I remember Dixie getting a lot of parts from Belgium and later Italy. Did they have any US makers that you know of ?  Thanks, Roland

I don’t recall ever seeing a Dixie lock marked “Made in USA”. The internal parts on that lock look like the onesmade in Italy. The Belgian made locks were not cast, they were machined ( the F1 and P1 locks) come to mind.
