Opinion on a side plate engraving idea

Since I was a kid I was in love with the Rev War sharp shooters(widow makers).
I know a lot of the stories are myth, and have been educating myself a bit more on actual accounts.
My idea on this Kiblers colonial rifle is to have the words Widow Maker engraved in colonial style cursive on the side plate as a homage to the riflemen .
I know its my rifle and I should do what I want, but would like the opinions of the folks on the forum regarding putting the rifles name on the side plate.

Rev-War's rarely had engraving on the sideplate, but like you said....it's your gun! I would engrave it on the top barrel flat.

Engraving suggests the gun builder declared it to be a widow maker. Another option is to roughly carve that into the buttstock, as though the owner named their rifle.

The true widow makers during the Rev War were artillery and bayonets.

I think it's a great idea. It's your gun. I wouldn't engrave it into an original, but this is not the case.  Besides, call Jum and but another side plate and you could always change it for what ever reason?
I inlet a small oval of Lagan's Elm into my Kibler on the bottom between the trigger gd and a toe plate I added. It is distinctive. Soon as I learn to engrave well enough or carve, I am going to add Logan's Elm to it.
Aren't they great guns?
Mine just drives tacks all day, same hole after same hole.
