I, too, have received a fantastic blade from Todd - he makes beautiful and useful blades. I am in the process of making a mold for a pewter bolster (if that is the right word) for it, and a nice burl myrtle handle.
I've never cast pewter before, only aluminum (60 years ago), and lead balls. Should be a fun, and learning, experience.
And I had also been wondering about a period sheath (1790-1810), and I think you have provided an answer! Probably won't be near as well decorated - I gotta tell my son's chickens to treat their feathers nicely.
