Not being funny but the answer is yes, but probably no.  They had a proprietary method for the breech. The Drum/touch hole must be removed first, as it is a thru bolt, that screws thru the breech locking it in, and only then can you try to remove the breach.  Problem is that it is a pressure fit, and requires heat, and cold, and a lot of swearing, and language not appropriate for this site.  I've done it once in my younger, and curious days, and I can't remember why I wanted to remove it  They were never intended to be removed by a novice.  Is there a reason to pull it, or is it just curiosity.  Monetarily they don't have a lot of value, but were great shooters, and a number of us would still like to have one as a shooter.

Thanks for the reply. I am "restoring" one that lived in a garage for almost 20 years. It has some light rust in the barrel and I thought it would be easier to clean it up that way.

Kroil or equal parts of automatic transmission fluid, kerosene, and mineral spirits applied to a green scrubbie will clean rust very well. It won't remove pitting, but it will lift the rust.

Are the flint barrels on Lyman Great Plains set up the same way?
