Ramrod thimbles for Bedford rifle

I have a chunk of wood here that wants to be a Bedford rifle.  I have never held one and everything I might know about them is from photos.  My impression is that the majority of the thimbles are simple cylinders - no facets.  It also appears that a lot of the lower/entry thimbles are two-piece.  Does any of that ring true?

Your impression about the ram rod thimbles is correct . I have a Wm Defibaugh rifle, they have two parallel lines on the ends and measure .035 thick.
I strongly suggest you find an original to handle before you start on your rifle. Photos just can not represent the unique nature of these guns.
