You should be proud to have a father with such skills in the 70's. It's a very nice gun and I appreciate the photos. Do you know if he had a pattern to follow or just going by a photo out of a book?

Very nice workmanship from what I can see.  I really like the trigger.  What caliber is it?  Thanks for sharing.

Wow! I'd say your old man knew what he was doing! Very nice. Looks like a natural patina on it, too- awesome.

Looks to me to be patterned from the last Bucks in the RCA book, an unknown maker.  And a few minor changes, like the tip of the buttplate addition over the comb & the carvings on the rifle. Nicely done........

I like the wooden patchbox better than a bottom hinged one.

That is a Very nice rifle...........   ;)

Hey YOOPER! That is one beautiful, folksy rifle your pappy made! What's his name? What's yours for that matter?

Great rifle! I could see that rifle being carried along the Two Heart.

Nice. Wish I had the ability to make something like this! All I can do is tangle up crowbars and break anvils :o

Do you know what kind of wood the stock is made from? At first I figured curley maple, but the more I look at it????

Your Dad did an exceptionally fine job!

Well Sir, your father had a great talent. I really like the trigger and the butt plate as well. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I know she's a special treasure.
