Jaeger gunmaking display at CLA show

I will have a table at the annual CLA show with the model for the 2020 NMLRA Jaeger workshop as well as a Germanic Fowler.   There will be  displays of carving casts, a new Jaeger barrel by FCI, Chris Laubach's new Jaeger Lock, Kerry Masarick's slings , and some extraordinary Circassian walnut stocks. In addition, I will have SB McWilliams Alkanet Refinishing Oil available to experiment with. I will have Circassian Walnut sample chips  (to keep) for gun makers to apply the Alkanet oil too . A great opportunity to experiment with very traditional oil finish.  Stop by and chat. My table with be along the back wall between Mark Silver and Jim Kibler.

Charles Burton of FCI Barrel is making a 28” fast twist barrel from dimensions taken from RCA15. I’m pretty sure that he will have some on his table at CLA.

This barrel has the dimensions of  the Rifle that is the model for next years class. It is 28 1/2 inches long, with generous breech and graceful swamp. Original is 58 cal, prototype is 62 and there is enough wall thickness to make up a 69.
