Earlier this year I decided to have a Bedford style flintlock rifle made for deer hunting here in Pennsylvania. I went to a few shows but was overwhelmed by all of the options and different builders. While searching the web I found this great site. I placed a request in the for sale section asking for recommendations for some one to do the work. Tom Caster from Michigan responded, we agreed on a Peter White style Bedford gun and a budget price. Tom also said he could have the rifle finished for PA deer season.
Well the rifle came last week. The workmanship and quality exceeded my expectations. Communications were great throughout the summer and the price was right on. I'm not use to this. I've had a lot of work done by other gunsmiths, (restocks, repairs, modifications,) ect.. to old double shotguns. Estimated time was usually tripled with often poor results.
Hats off and kudos to Tom and the other builders who share there services and knowledge on this forum.
Thanks again, Dave
