A rookie piece indeed! As it looks to me like a museum piece, How the h%#& can you do better? I'd expect it to have been built by someone who's built these many times before. Don't be humble, that is a grade "A" job!

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It was a fun project but did take a long time. B. Barker you are correct, it is a Carlos Gove head. Hope to forge one on my own one day but my day job keeps getting in the way.
I have two rifles on the bench now but hope to start a brass hawk by next spring, I’m really slooow!
