Stock Chip Help

Picked up this American walnut stocked rifle this past weekend. The chip is missing, so I need to make a piece to make the repair. Any suggestions on how to repair?

Get somebody here to send you a small piece of walnut with similar grain. Flatten the defect, glue on the piece aligning the grain as much as can, shape and refinish. I’ll look for a piece.
