wood powder measures?

On today's Contemporary Makers is shown some Georgia mountain rifles and the description of a late 1800s hunting bag says one of the measures is horn and the other one is "cockspur". I assume it must be wood from a thorny tree like a hawthorn? if, so, are there other examples of wood powder measures and even some from the colonial era ?

I made several out of river cane, but that was while living in the South.  No river cane up this way.  Here's a couple of them.

Greetings All,

Here's some photos of a wooden powder measure that came out of a Southcentral Pennsylvania estate sale in the 1980s.  Tubular construction with a wood plug secured with a small tack.  It was found keeping company with a small powder horn.

Outside diameter 5/8"; Inside diameter approx. 3/8"; Depth of cavity approx. 1 and 3/16"; Overall length 1 and 7/8"; length of short side 1 and 3/8"
