Augustus Duenkel Rifle

I recently purchased a very long and heavy barreled 40 cal percussion rifle.  The rifle barrel is marked Augustus Duenkel.  It has a Henry Parker lock.  An internet search provided that he was a Bavarian gun maker in Boonville  Mo  It shoots very well.  I would like to know if any knows about this gun maker.  Thank you,  Jeff

In Whisker's book Gunsmiths and Allied Tradesmen of Missouri, he pretty much just confirms what you already stated, but there's another gunsmith listed with the same last name, George F.  They are close enough in age that they could be brothers or possibly related.
