Ron Scott's carving tool....
« on: December 10, 2019, 01:05:04 AM »
I was going to inquire on the for sale board, but didn't want to sidetrack his thread, which is intended for product orders.  I'm VERY inexperienced when it comes to engraving or relief carving.  I'd like to have a few tools and to give it a go (particularly the relief carving), but I can't visualize how the tool is used for that purpose.   Can anyone offer an explanation (or better yet a YouTube video of them using the product) to explain how it's used.  I think I need/want to purchase one, but I'd hate to find out after I received it that it won't suit me well and won't do what I had hoped.

Thanks in advance for any explanations or descriptions of how the tool is used or any product reviews from those who have used it.

After looking at it, I was wondering also how it is used. Curious as to what the cutting edge looked like.

It's used much like a slant-edged chisel, but is able to get into tight corners to shave away background.
