High dollar thimble holding jig.
« on: January 07, 2020, 01:27:19 AM »
Came up with this beauty to hold thimbles for filing/sanding. Saw it in quarters about 1 3/4" down, add a bit of duct tape to keep it from splitting, and voila! Put your thimble on, tighten the screw, and you have an easy way to hold it, and costs a nickel.

I don’t even use the screw, just the duct tape.

Seems like Southern ingenuity to me. Have you done your genealogy? Do you find yourself listening to Merle Haggard and don’t know why?

I'm surprised you'd post something so rare and valuable.

More like Red Green show ingenuity. As Red Green always said "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy"

All y'all need to remember that Justin gets paid in Canadian money - that's like, Oh, about 15 cents for us 'Muricans!  And I am sure the price includes postage, too.

this is the kind of thing you find in old abandoned shops that make you bang your head against the wall trying to figure out it's original purpose. Perfect.

I've been using that method for years, but I use a little wedge, made from scrap of course, instead of a screw.
