Bit of carving
« on: March 07, 2020, 05:34:21 AM »
Well lets see if this post gets anywhere. Been working on a rifle for three years and finally got around to carving some on it this week. I've been trying to post a photo of my progress and getting nowhere. If this works I'll try to add a photo separately.

Need to get a better photo of the carving. It was late when I got this one last night.

My first thought was - that looks pretty neat, then, oh- I think the bottom swirling circle should about match the upper one.
The carving in fornt of the cheek piece is nicely done.
That will be a nice plank when finished.

Looks good. Have to disagree with Daryl, the left and right volutes match so that the upper one can do its own thing. At least to my eye.

I really like the way the cheek is carved. May do that on my next build.

Thanks everyone. I hope to have it finished up sometime this year. It seems to shoot pretty well the little bit that I've shot it. Here is a full length photo of it from last summer or spring.
