Your rifle on the blog is really something special.  The gun itself is outstanding but your aging is something unbelievable.  Great looking gun!

Just curious Ken, why did you post this in the antique section?   Is it because you too were fooled?  There are no pictures
of the top of the barrel that might show a signature.    This is the type of gun that somewhere down the road, it will be
sold as an antique, unless it has an appropriate signature.....scary, but also, fantastic work..........Don

Eric, your work Sir, transcends the ages.   Looking at that gun I can feel every bump and scratch that adds to it's beauty.

Thanks a whole lot for the compliments guys - I do very much appreciate it!  I have a lot of fun with this kind of work.  I love funky, folky, wacky stuff.  I feel particularly close to Peter Angstadt.  Poor guy died fairly poor and his wife had to sell off a lot of the estate to pay the debts, which were more than the value of the estate.  He actually expressed love to his wife in his will.  Have to wonder about the course of his life.  I know many do not favor the heavy aging but I don't think it would fool anyone in-hand (how many antiques do you see with perfectly-functioning locks or bright shiny bores).  Down the road who knows?  But then in 100 years I'll be dead and many of these 'as-new' rifles will be pretty aged if they've been used, or destroyed more likely and our descendants will be speaking Chinese or some funky fru-fru warm and fuzzy 'global' huggy language.  It's people, It's peeeeeeeooooooppppllllllllee..............

I'm not usually a fan of aged rifles.  But yours have that wonderful warm used appearence.
