I don't have a clue as to its whereabouts, but wonder if you're thinking of building a copy of it?

John I have been trying to get motivated enough to do something.. I thought I would do a generic pistol just for a project.. But like a lot of my projects it has evolved into maybe a Hawk Pistol. Not positive.. Still a bit of research to do. But I spent the day working on a pistol barrel..I hope it ends up in an actual pistol. Time will tell...LP

Louie, I've looked through what books I have including Whiskers pistol book. All I can find are the two side views. Funny you should take on a project like this . I had been thinking my next purchase should be a Hawk pistol by you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe Yes that's the pistol. I have always admired Hawk's work. Still hoping to find a couple of photos. I am not aiming for an exact copy of that pistol. But don't want to stray from details that Hawk used on either the rifles or the pistol . In other words I may use some details that can be seen on Hawk rifle... Louie

Louie,
Would this thread receive more attention in the Antiques or Gun Building sections? I'll be happy to move it, if you think it will help. BTW, will look forward to seeing your rendition of a Hawk pistol.

I have always admired that pistol too Louis, and about thirty years ago, I built a loose copy for my buddy Leatherbelly (may he RIP). For what it's worth, I post some pics of it here...

Louie, I like Hawk's work, too. I don't think I have seen that pistol before. It would be a dandy to make a copy of it, though. I would love to see what you do with it.

Joe I hope I can get my act together and do the job. Not sure right now. I am on a temporary round of medicine that has my head all screwed up. I Can't think or or sleep. Take a measurement and then not why.. I believe the cure is worse than the problem. We will see....Louie
