 If I may ask... How much time elapsed, between those two rifles??
just wondering if the 'age' of the stain & finish was involved? or just the reaction from two different pieces of wood?

Metalshaper, If I recall right, those two pieces of wood just took the stain differently.  I like both equally, and Taylor did his usual amazing finish on both.  I am sure Taylor will be along soon to answer definitively.  God Bless,   Marc

Only a few weeks I think.  Taylor could better answer that as he built them. I only get to shoot them, sometimes.
The intent of the posting of the videos was to highlight the differences in two pieces of wood from 2 maple trees.
Their finish is virtually the same "age".
