Patch strap
« on: March 27, 2020, 04:28:13 AM »
Saw one of these at a shoot awhile ago. I thought it was a great idea for shooters who would rather not cut their patches at the muzzle. Works just as well with dry or lubed patches.
Being stuck at home I'm getting bored so I knocked a few out. Simply tie to your bag strap or horn strap pluck and use. Yes I need to darken the leather to match the bag. What do you all think? And yes that is a muskrat pelt sewn to the bag strap of the 'ol "Muskrat's" bag.

Looks like that might be a needed addition to my tree rat bag...seems I’m always reloading... :o

I prefer a length of lubed  patch, cut nearly through so a patch can be torn off.
It's hooked on the pouch and easy to get at.

I think I'd be rubbing those patches out as I went about my business...

Best,
R.

Pukka: that was a concern but the slits are tight enough that you will never loose a single patch dry or greased. I have used your method, I have fished around for cut patches, and have tied a strip to the bag and cut at the muzzle. All work this is just another idea that some might like to try out.
