Here's A Tip Or Two For Ya
« on: April 13, 2020, 12:26:36 AM »
Started out making a tip an one thing lead to another or should I say Seven. Three are One piece antler Three are Two piece antler and the one is a Two part horn. There is still some refining to do on all.  I've got ideas for all of them so now the work begins.

 Tim C.

PS: I usually start with the tip, figure if I get it right the rest is down hill. It took me Three different tips to get the top of the horn one right. TC

Love them Tim. The far right green one looks like the teet on a calving bottle. Can you thread the bottom to fit on a beer bottle?

Nice work Tim. I think my next purchases are gonna be a pen mandrel and a set of smaller tools...all I have are regular large wood turning gouges and they’re hard to handle for small stuff.

Very Nice!   Now, I have to make a bunch.  However,  I have some bespoke work to do first.

Tim, Before I ever opened the thread, I had a good guess of horn tips. They all look good! Jerry

Very nicely done ;) -- where do you get your horn material?

I pick up drops, yard sales, flea markets, hunter buddies, anywhere I can. I can't seem to kill one with a rack big enough to use :)
