Not sure what you are getting at? All I meant was that the rifles I took pictures of at the Museum didn't have that motif; not that Vincents didn't use it. It's pretty obvious that they did from the follow-up article and picture I posted from Shumway's book. I merely tried to show an example of what you asked for and would represent the Vincents work. I think Robby's interpretation is the most representative of the Vincents style. It's interesting to note that the half moon inlay is consistent across the rifles in the AOLRC article, the picture from Shumway's book, and the picture you posted. The star on the cheek is also consistent between our two pictures and from the picture of the Vincent inlay patterns.
I also like your engraving pattern. Others may not like the border on the lid, but if you look at the patchbox pictures I posted, you'll see that the border lines on the side plates follow and compliment the border lines on the lid. Once again, I think Vincent's engraving was pretty basic and what might be fine for a PA rifle can get to be too much for a Vincent rifle.
