Miscellaneous Accouterments
« on: August 09, 2009, 11:04:12 PM »
More little things made.  I normally make one for my customers that order a new powder horn.  Just something to practice turning.  These were made of maple, cherry, apple and walnut.

Neat funnels, but how about sharing dimensions? Thanks,  Shelby Gallien

Shelby, oops.  Yes, these were not going to any planned dimensions, but most of these are just under 3 inches tall and average around 1 1/2 inches in diameter.   Ususally once I get a visual of what the shape should be I pretty much design on the lathe after putting some pencil marks at strategic parts and then let the shavings fly.  ;D  Some designs are more involved than others such as taking off the lathe to carve, etc, as you can see.

These are really nice Gary. I wish I knew how to "practice" that well. Great accessory to have for your horn.
