Deuce....If you have the two faces , tang and breech, nicely mated with good contact , I think you’re in business. When the rifle is fired, the thing that counts is that the two faces have good contact. All the hook does is keep things sort of together. A slant breech Requires a little more fitting.
Put them together however, solder, epoxy, and on to the next step.
You’re doing way better than I did with my first ( several) rifle(s). Keep up the good work.
