Bob Roller lock
« on: May 30, 2020, 06:10:12 PM »
Since locks seem to be a topic lately I got my cell phone out.  This is the Bob Roller version of the L&R Durs Egg.

The outside of the lock.  I have noy polished it up yet

The insides of the lock, full and down positions.  The down position is at a bad camera angle, there is plenty of clearance between the lock edge and the bottom of the stirrup.  Note the 3 screw bridle

Some close ups

More close ups

I have not touched a thing on this lock.  It is how a Roller comes out of the box.  I am not allowed to spark this lock in the house.  It could catch the carpet on fire
kind regards, heinz

Heinz,
What a nice surprise.I have no CNC ,only RCR which are my initials ;D.
The last 2 I made were the Durs Egg and I thank the guys at L&R for being willing to help me
by furnishing external parts for any and all locks they make.I have had no reports of any failures
of the parts they furnished and the only really vulnerable part would be the frizzens.
I made my last 2 in August and delivered them to the customer in Lexington at the CLA show.
After I finished the 2nd one I simply decided it was time to pull the plug and I did.
A few triggers are all I have any interest in now and I am taking more time out of the shop and
just might go up North to help a man reassemble his car engine,Model "J" Duesenberg.
These pictures prove the LOCK is on the back of the plate no matter who makes it.
