Spring Temper Temperature

I'm in the process of making a rep0laement sear spring for a friends matchlock. I got it all shaped and hardened and I'm ready to temper it. Can someone tell me at what temperature should I temper it at. I'm using a Nitre salt bath.Thanks...Geo.

  It really depends on what the steel is. If a simple 10XX steel, it should do well around 650°. If a complex steel, you may have to research it.

I just take them to a nice blue when using saltpeter. Paler blue works OK but if its gets too silver blue you may have to start over.
