I really like the flow of the carving from the butt to under the cheek piece.  And the photo before staining shows the depth and contrast beautifully.  Well played.

I'm beginning the same kit - Chambers York - right not for my first build. I probably won't be able to show it here when I'm done because yours is too nice to follow!  ;)

With that kind of tallent you need to build fron a plank out to the finished product. You have by far  too much skill to waste on kit,s.
