Coming into my first trade gun. What to carry with it?

Bob, good choice in selecting one of Jack's Type 'G' Guns. I did too, and he was all set to do the ink vine work on it, but I asked him to change that to wire inlay. I wanted silver, but he opted for brass and he is the one to decide, so brass it became. Looks pretty darned good, so I am quite pleased with it. I paired it up with a Gary Birch bag and a Philly style horn plus the other things that go with it. Now all I have to do it find some place to shoot it. I have been looking for such a place for at least 20 years, and have yet to find one. so, my gun is still a 'virgin' I guess you could say.

With the help of a bag from Jerry, and some uber funky straps and shot pouch from Eric Ewing, I'm getting it together. Looks good, I think. Tomahawk and super cool NC horn by Tim Crosby. I figured a NC horn would be appropriate for a ‘Southern Trade Gun’ and I had this unique one looking for a unique setup... I’ve also been adding old broken pipe bowls to my earlier Smoothbore setups for shot...

Since we talked about it, the horn for the Jack Brooks Painted trade gun from the Sibley’s is on the way. Thought I’d share. I’m super pumped. He engraved my Rev War era direct ancestor’s name, Niven McBryde, on the horn. I’ve got several pieces, mostly from Tim Crosby, engraved with the same name. NDN type scrim, and a super cool plug....

Red to go with the gun and the straps by Eric Ewing.

Thanks fellers. Here’s the finished kit. Straps/hair on pouches by Eric Ewing/Lyman by Jerry and horn by Scott Sibley (Cathy was busy with a finely scrimmed horn so Scott did the entire horn). I usually don’t go this wild but I dig it. Fun rig for a fun gun.
