I,m new to the forum and this has probably came up before. I was wondering how some of you antique your barrels and the iron parts. I have used cold blue and Clorox bleach and I got a okay look, but not what I was looking for. Any ideals??

Cold blue in the normal fashion. Heavily slather on a good coating of old fashion Iodine. Makes a non-agressive patina/crud overnight. Put the gun back together and rub off the crud to the extent that has the look that you're after. This method was fostered by our own Mark Elliot, and is easy to achieve. Can also be removed and redone.
The Mike Brooks method involves giving her a good coat of black spray paint and rubbing it out. Looks great and probably more durable.

There are any number of ways to antique gun parts. Most of those have been discussed in the recent to distant past. Those posts are available in the archives of this board and the old board.
A search through both should turn up more material than your brain can probably process in a week.
I still browse through the archives, from time to time, and am usually surprised at what I find. There is no telling what is there that I have yet to find.
God bless

I have seen many that were "antiqued" by boiling in Chlorox. To me they look just like a gun that has been boiled in Chlorox.
