More 200 Yard Shooting

This is not a good target for offhand shooting IMHO from 50 yards, (to much black) but I think for 200 yards it should be a good one.   I thought I would post another one of these US Palma Tryout Targets this coming Saturday morning at 200 yards and see what happens?  The black area is 13 1/8 inches with the overall being 20 inches to the outside ring.

I've got two members (3 - counting myself) in our WRB that feel shooting long range with patch & ball is quite enjoyable and challenging.  We're thinking of possibly starting a long range league next year - running it over a 3 to 4 month period - 10 shots each month.

Some of the thoughts we've bounced around is allowing an overhead "spotter" to aim at over the target stand as we plan on using iron sights, though we will allow a shader over the rear sight, but require the front sight to be open (no hood or shader) of blade, bead, or post.

Naturally we could do this from 100 yards using a 100 yard target, but we kind of want to stretch things out a bit and see what the results are?  We haven't decided yet as to allow x-sticks, or just do our shooting from the shooter's choice of offhand, prone, setting, or kneeling, with no added supports other then what the body offers.  I suppose if we go 4 months we could do one shooting discipline each month?

I would be remiss by not mentioning that I used a Rich Pierce flint in my lock the day I shot this target and a couple other targets the same day, (47 shots in all).

I'm still using the same flint in this rifle that I took these shots with (all 47 which include the other two targets) that I installed and had used prior to this latest outing.  Rich's flints are simply amazing!  I bet I have close to 80 or more shots on this single flint and it looks like it's going to yield many more.

The weekend forecast isn't looking to bad for a long range outing. :)
