Looking good.  I like the way you positioned the wood to get the grain spiraling around the grip.  Cool guard too.  God Bless,   Marc

Beautiful knife. Reminds me of some of Hershel’s S-curve knives. Good stuff.

Marc, Yeah I meant to do that!!!

I wish I were that good but it was a fortunate coincidence not an intentional action on my part.

I feathered it 3x's with black tea, rubbed it with 0000 steel wool, applied some homemade aquafortis and then used a heat gun to bring out the color.  Using tru oil to seal and finish.

Beautiful workmanship.  What did you use to get the subtle antique color to the blade and guard.  Is that like a cold blue?

I didn't do any to them the guard and bolster were covered by the same aquafortis I used on the handle.  the acid did the coloring and I didn't need to do anything additional the blade is just sanded to 800 grit and oiled he wanted me to leave it shiny to patina naturally. Now that I think about it I did heat the guard when I was doing final fit to the tang which blued it.  Then I rubbed it back with sandpaper to 800 grit then 0000 steel wool and WD40.
