Another Miniature John Armstrong
« on: July 26, 2020, 01:41:18 AM »
I told Adrie that I made this little rifle in 69.. But it may have been in 1970 .  Can't recall for sure..  At the time I was very much a fan of Armstrong .. Still am to lesser extent..These photos are  not very good but the best we could do today.. Some of the engraving don't show up.
It has an overall length of 27 inches and a trigger pull of 5 7/8 inched..

WOW - just WOW - 1969/70 you say - WOW!
If you didn't tell us it was a miniature, we (I) would not know.
That is a VERY special rifle Mr. louiparker - SIR!~

Amazing Louie,

Without the case and perhaps the wood grain I see nothing to give away the scale.
Great work!

Dear Louie,

Thanks for the pictures and thanks that you share it with all.
I love the miniature Armstrong very much, it's a treasure to own.
You make me a fan of the Armstrong rifle.
I will treasure the pictures for myself and will study them.
It's good to know there is an other miniature rifle builder on ALR,
and when I have questions I know where I can find you.
Thanks again!
Adrie

Dennis a friend of mine in Chicago  owned one of the Hlbly made miniature swivel breech rifles. He loved it !  it was an outstanding little swivel.. My friend died about four years ago.. I guess the little rifle sold at Julia's auction.
Hlbly made some great full size Kentucky rifles also.

Louie,
I have seen several, all were great pieces. I saw where one of his miniature brought over $3000 at auction. I will leave it to him to show us a few photos if he so chooses.
