Trigger guards / recent find
« on: August 16, 2020, 12:11:33 AM »
Here are a batch of trigger guards that were in a collection of stuff that I recently purchased. They are pretty unusual and not something that you’re going to find in everyone’s catalog. Now, before y’all start trying to buy them from me, I’ll be taking them to Mike Brooks next weekend and he has plans on having them all cast and using my stuff as masters. You can get them from Mike. I don’t know the price but his guards usually run at the $35.00 price. We’re going to call them the Stoner Creek mounts.

Well, I would like to thank you for having these replicated. These are some pretty unique styles, do you know if they are historical or contemporary in styling? I really like #1 and #3.

You’re going to have to defer that question to some of our more schooled members. I know that some of it has a nice Germanic look. The Fowler guard, Dutch perhaps?

Should be a great addition  to the gunbuilding community. You folks might as well  start letting me know how many you want so I'll know how many to cast.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I'm for certain in for one of the 3rd style (pics 5&6). Let me know where and when to send payment and what you intend to call it.

It will be a couple months by the time I get these, they go to the foundry and are cast and they come back to me. When they are available I will announce it here. Untill then It would be nice to know how much interest there are in these so I'll have a rough idea of how many to cast. Not taking an payment until I have them in hand.
